National Beauty Retailer Supports The Breast Cancer Research Foundation with October Campaign
CHICAGO, IL (September 2009) – ULTA, the national beauty retailer and a company dedicated to empowering women, today announced a special campaign in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Beginning October 4, 2009, over 330 ULTA stores nationwide will join together to support women who have been affected by breast cancer.
Throughout the month of October, consumers will be invited to write their stories of honor and encouragement in a letter and bring it to their local ULTA store where it will be posted in the windows. Placed end to end, all of ULTA’s windows stretch over six miles, each of which will be devoted to sharing the stories of those that have fought, are bravely fighting or have been personally affected by breast cancer in some way.
“It is our hope that during the month of October, the windows at ULTA will be filled with letters of love that honor and encourage the millions of women facing this disease and letters that pay tribute to the unsung heroes who have provided the strength and support in helping in their fight” said Lyn Kirby, President and CEO, ULTA.
Throughout October, donations will be accepted at every ULTA store to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF). Customers who donate $1 can register for a chance to win a beauty bag of pink products; one winner per store will be chosen by random drawing after October 31. Customers who make a contribution of $10 or more will receive a pink “love” hat or scarf to show their support of ULTA’s Windows of Love™ campaign.* ULTA will guarantee a minimum donation of $50,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in connection with the Windows of Love campaign and invites consumers to help in ULTA’s goal to raise $1 million dollars to support the fight against breast cancer.
*With every $10 contribution, customers will receive their choice of hat or scarf and a donation of $7.50 will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For customers who choose not to receive a hat or scarf, 100% of the contribution will be donated to BCRF.
